Global conference presence

Our research journey delved into the realm of multi-organizational product teams, navigating intricate landscapes of constrained resources and distant collaboration. Our pursuit? Unveil the essence of project management within these intricate "networks", a quest that fuels our dedication as both researchers and adept product managers.

Project's challenges

We did a research on multi-organizational product teams and mapped the following challenges:

With the growing specialization in various fields, managing diverse skill sets and knowledge bases across multiple organizations is demanding.

As customer requirements are constantly evolving, it is a daunting task for multiple organizations to stay aligned and responsive.

Keeping up with the rapid pace of technological advancements and ensuring all participating organizations are at par.

multi-organizational projects involve elaborate relationships with a diverse set of group members across organizations.

projects are multifunctional and dynamic, characterized by frequent team member changes. This dynamism can create issues such as intellectual property conflicts.

Often, there is no single "main" organization or a fixed project manager in such projects, with team members rotating as task leaders.

Given the diversity of organizational backgrounds, interests, and ideas, multi-org projects often operate on flexible budgets.

Due to these challenges, many multi-org projects fail, indicating the necessity for special capabilities, referred to as MOCI capabilities.

Research lacks insight into daily execution abilities of multi-org teams, complementing focus on strategic skills.
